Parish 50th Anniversary Celebration – Sept. 25

Parish Life

On Sept. 8, 1972, on the Feast of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, our church of St. Mary Mother of God was elevated by the newly installed bishop of Charlotte, Bishop Michael Begley, to the status of parish. As part of the overall celebration of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of the Diocese of Charlotte this year, we invite you to join us as we celebrate the anniversary of our parish on Sunday, Sept. 25, with a festival after the 11:30 AM Mass.

Our celebration will include…

  • Bilingual Mass at 11:30 AM.
  • Blessing of the new St. John Bosco Center (the yellow house across from the office that our volunteers have been so busy renovating).
  • International Food Festival
  • Potluck and concessions
  • Carnival games and prizes
  • Raffle
  • Photo Booth
  • Photo display of the history of our parish

Volunteers are still needed to help out. Please sign up in the parish hall or contact Parish Life commission chair Annaleise Camacho at annaleisecamacho@gmail.com.
